Update as of 25 Feb. To give Jessops their due, they did cancel the order and refund me straightaway but I would have much preferred up front clarity about the availability of what I'd ordered and some contrition from the customer service agents when they couldn't deliver it. By contrast, having cancelled my Jessops order, I immediately ordered the same products from Park Cameras. They were actually cheaper, provided fabulous customer service and the goods are being delivered today - their review will be very different to this one! If there was a Zero Stars option I would have used it! So disappointed as I've used Jessops in the past and they were great but no longer it would seem. I can only agree with all the other terrible reviews on here and wish that I'd looked at them before attempting to buy from Jessops. I ordered a drone and bunch of accessories from Jessops last Saturday. Everything was showing as in stock and the money (>£2k) was taken from my card immediately. I received a confirmation email pretty much straightaway but after that nothing. Chased yesterday by chat and was told that everything should be with me "in a few days". Read all the reviews on here last night and decided to reengage via the chat this morning only to be told that they were waiting for stock and couldn't give me an estimate. They were utterly unapologetic for their service which was the final straw as far as I'm concerned. Don't waste your time or money; look elsewhere even if Jessops seem to be offering the best deal!

Genuinely poor service.

Twice now I have paid for Saturday delivery having ordered early Friday morning. And nothing turned up. Says dispatched on their website. Spoke to customer service who just fob you off blaming carrier. AVOID.

Received in good time, but coms were poor.

So, I'm writing this as it may help put someones mind at ease when ordering from Jessops. I ordered a DJI RSC2 gimbal from them and as I checked the order status over several days I noticed that nothing had changed, it just said 'processing'. I then looked on here to see what their feedback was (should have done it first but thought they'd be pretty reliable considering they're quite well known). After seeing many negative reviews on here I was concerned that I wouldn't get the gimbal for a while. I read about people not being informed of items not being in stock, I also checked on Clifton Cameras and on their site it said that they were awaiting stock, I've known from ordering items in the past that often many retailers can be awaiting for stock of the same items at the same time, all this had me assuming that Jessops had sold me an item that they didn't actually have in stock and I would have to wait a while. To my surprise the item then turned up exactly a week after ordering. I then checked the item order status on their site and it said 'processed'. Jessops did not inform me that the item had been sent out for delivery or of any specific details regarding it being in stock etc. Also maybe worth mentioning, there was a slight piercing on the DJI box which wasn't on the outer box where it looked like it had been knocked or hit by something in their warehouse, it wasn't bad, but I like to keep my boxes in good condition, items shouldn't have any damage on the actual product packaging, it's a minor thing but thought I'd mention it. The items works fine and everything inside is fine.Hopefully this review will help put someone else's mind at ease as there are so many bad reviews here. I've given them a 4/5 as although the delivery was quick, the lack of info regarding stock and delivery info/coms was poor.. i.e. other companies will notify you of more specific details like, order being packaged, order being sent out for delivery, tracking details of the delivery company, delivery time etc.. for an expensive item you kind of expect this info, I felt a little bit in the dark which was concerning. I've just noticed that the tracking details are now available under where it says 'processed' but it would have been nice to have been told of this prior to it being sent out/received. Their website could do with some improvements.. i.e. you need to click on one link to get the order number and copy it, then you have to go to a different link to track it where you paste in the order number.. you should just be able to click on the order number to bring up this info, rather than navigating around and using copy and paste.. seems unintuitive and frustrating on a smartphone. If they're not going to inform you of progress via text or email then the website should be easier to use!

I cannot believe Peter Jones is behind this store. Used to be great

Prior to writing this I had a quick look at what others had written. There's some comfort in knowing you're not alone. But come on Jessops, how have you let your previously excellent store and brand take such a nose dive.I made an impulsive buy of a small DJI drone which I need as part of a certification I'm doing. So time is of the essence. The 5% discount coupled with their finance scheme really nailed the deal (as they have many times in the past). I ordered it Saturday and as it was online was expecting it would ship right away and I'd be flying on Tuesday - Wednesday.I used their chat to enquire and was told dispatching and should have it Wednesday. It's now Thursday and still no news from their courier, and the status still uses the meaningless and unhelpful phrase "processing".They are still within their contractual delivery schedule but it will need to go out today and be received tomorrow. As they pay for a next day service, I cannot see why they'd delay sending your property out as soon as possible. It's not that they sell things that are custom orders. There's no assembly and testing. They are literally grabbing the thing you ordered, sticking it in a box, pasting a label on it, and winging it in your direction courtesy of a courier. Or am I missing something?I have little confidence I'm going to see what I've ordered having read others' reviews. Of course people feel compelled to write when the worst happens, so reviews are not an overall snapshot of customer satisfaction. If someone from Jessops would contact me as the chat is obviously not reliable and look into an actual delivery date, then I'll consider updating this review.

AVOID!! Utterly dreadful

Same experience as other 1-star reviews…

Same experience as other 1-star reviews here.No confirmation email. Money gone immediately. No means of contacting by phone.Webchat at least gave me confirmation that my order had gone through, but contradicted the website's assurance that stock would be dispatched within 5-7 days.Could not give me an estimate of when stock would arrive, despite having my money. Attempted to shut down the conversation prematurely. Poor service blamed on lockdown.I have cancelled my order and am awaiting refund.Gone with Park Cameras instead, who have been prompt, caring and efficient even through lockdown.It wouldn't take much for Jessops to at least ensure that automated email confirmation service was working, but I am clearly not the only one with difficulties here.

So good I've bought two!

I bought a tripod for my granddaughter's birthday. It had been reduced to about half price. I was so impressed by its quality - really stable and sturdy - that I have just ordered another one, for myself!@

What should of been an easy transaction !

I ordered a few items for Christmas , I have to start by saying they were all showing in order and I expected them to be delivered as one package within a few days . It started by one pack of film arriving on its own then a few days later I got an email to say the other pack wouldnt be here till January ! I then received another mail with a dispatch note for the remaining 2 items to say they were on route , when they didnt arrive and I couldnt locate the tracking number on DHL I visited the online chat to find out what was going on . Initially then told me that it had been delivered on 4th December I informed them the film had but not the camera or case , and I only received the tracking email on the 11th so was very doubtful that was the case . The operator really seemed to have no idea exactly what was happening and it was only when I said to cancel the order that he suddenly said it had been posted and it should be updated tonight . I have had messages not replied, phone calls on hold for a long time , and to be honest I am not entirely sure they know what they are doing . I will definitely not be using them again and I am still waiting for the items .

The parcel arrived safely. As it is Christmas gift it hasn't been used. However, my initial feelings is that it will be ideal 1st set of binoculars. Thanks

Terrible

I ordered a camera, case and film from jessops. It arrived in a battered box and the camera case was all ripped and cenotaped back together. Not what I was expecting and couldn't give it as a present. I returned it to Jessops, they don't do weekend collection so I had to arrange for it to be picked up from somewhere else. I was happy to accept an exchange, which didn't arrive, so I emailed asking what was happening to be told it was being dealt with, it still didn't arrive so I emailed again to be told it hadn't been processed properly and was now out of stock. Was due in the following week but that was not gaurenteed. I decided to get a refund so I could purchase the item elsewhere. Emailed asking for a refund, was told it was being processed, didn't receive the refund so emailed again to be told "as they had already explained my refund was being processed" excellent. However i still didn't receive the refund so emailed again. Only to be told that they hadn't processed the refund and the item was due to be delivered the following week. I explained I didn't want the item now as was told it was out of stock. So I was then told the parcel would be cancelled excellent as I said I wouldn't be excepting the parcel as dint have the time to keep sorting refunds and messaging customer services to check whats going on. Still no refund and have been told my parcel was delivered the next day and I can't get a refund till I return the parcel. Which I don't have as it was left on my doorstep. No note saying it had been left there, nothing. I've asked for a refund as I didn't order this item the one I ordered was sent back and I was waiting for my refund to be processed. I have emailed so many times its ridiculous.Since I sent this message i have emailed jessops and am still waiting for someone to get back to me. Management are not getting back to customer services so their hands are tied. Terribke service as this has been going on since 5th November and is still not resolved.
